REVIEW [excerpt]: Concert review: Blink-182, My Chemical Romance and Manchester Orchestra at the Bell Centre; Aug. 16, 2011

"...My Chemical Romance preceded the headliners with a well-received 55-minute set, during which lead singer Gerard Way and band showed some ambition in structuring their compositions. Some fan favourites, like Welcome to the Black Parade, sound like pop-punk-prog.

From the beginning of the evening, body surfing and smoking prohibitions were frequently ignored as mayhem erupted in a few patches on the standing-room floor area. Security stayed out of the mosh pit, but no real damage seemed to be done.

Still, harmless or not, the three leaders of the oversized frat house were, indeed, back."
