REVIEW: My Chemical Romance - Leeds Festival 2011 Review - 'A fitting retort to cynics with an impressive lights and stage show'

My Chemical Romance at Leeds Festival 2011 - review. We want your reviews too!

8/10

Since their train crash of a top-billing Download suffered many moons ago, you’d think My Chemical Romance wouldn't fill a tent in your neighbour's back garden, never mind headline a festival. They even made The Darkness closing stages almost acceptable.

However, a red haired Gerard Way and his troops provide a fitting retort with an impressive lights and stage show, that even a song called 'Na Na Na (Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na)’ bloody can't ruin.

Dressed in leather, the Americans hold their own with a steady stream of Kerrang! approved emo hits including 'I'm Not Okay' and 'Helena'.

Emotional stuff and as an ever increasing crowd lap it up, any cynicism surely has to be discarded.
