VIDEO: Deadmau5 BEHIND-THE-SCENES [Professional Griefers Video Shoot] feat. Gerard Way of MCR

Deadmau5 hanging out behind-the-scenes of his latest music video shoot in Los Angeles.

On May 15, 2012 Toronto music producer Deadmau5 a.k.a. Joel Zimmerman tweeted out that he needed his Los Angeles Horde to show up for a secret video shoot. The location wasn't given till the day of the shoot and nearly 2000 fans showed up to the event, some even wearing homemade Mau5heads.

Watch Deadmau5 call Gerard Way's cell phone, rub his butt on his manager's Range Rover, and (half) chug a Corona.

And yes, he CALLS ME OUT FOR FILMING him (00:55). Sorry, Joel. You understand.

The video will be for a new, unreleased track called "Professional Griefers" with vocals by Gerard Way of My Chemical Romance. It was filmed in the Sepulveda Dam on May 20, 2012 in Los Angeles, CA. Video is said to be out in the Fall.

4. My Chemical Romance Pinch Hit for Blink-182

Blink-182 were forced to cancel their Bamboozle appearance after Travis Barker's emergency tonsillectomy, so Jersey's own My Chemical Romance stepped up to the plate. Although Blink was greatly missed (I overheard one concert-goer wistfully mention that "no one's stage banter is as funny as Blink's"), MCR more than satisfied. Their set was 55 minutes of tight-knit punk-pop augmented by succinct, sick guitar solos from Ray Toro. After it was over the crowd was all like, Blink One-Eighty-WHO?

ARTICLE: Interview with My Chemical Romance: “It’s Not Someone Else’s Fest. It’s Ours.”

Plucked from the midst of recording their next album, New Jersey’s own My Chemical Romance were announced last week as being the last-minute replacement for pop-punk forebears Blink-182 at this year’s Bamboozle. The two bands toured together last year, and as Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker was reportedly admitted for an emergency tonsillectomy (he’ll get ice cream!), My Chem seemed the most natural fit. In the 10 years that this fest has been happening, they’ve played 30 times. We don’t even know how it happened, but that’s 100 percent true.

When we sent guitarist Frank Iero the questions for this email interview, he and the rest of the band were holed up in the studio in Los Angeles, working once more with Doug McKean on a new batch of songs. Iero was tight-lipped on the particulars of the material—as you’ll see—but managed to reveal that it’ll be drummer Jarrod Alexander playing on the album and that the band is looking forward to being back in what they (no doubt lovingly) refer to as “the NJ.”
