REVIEW: Fans give thumbs up to My Chemical Romance's Reading Festival show

A few aren’t so keen on Brian May stepping out with the band, though

My Chemical Romance's headline set on the Main Stage at Reading Festival last night (August 26) has proved a hit with most festivalgoers giving their opinions on NME.COM.

Queen guitarist Brian May made a guest appearance at the show for an encore of his band's 'We Will Rock You' and My Chemical Romance's 'Welcome To The Black Parade'

NME.COM user Martyn Heraty praised the show and May's guest spot, writing: "Great performance, they've spoken before of being inspired majorly by Queen, with the theatrics and it's no bad thing to bring one of their heroes onstage at their biggest show."

Rhian Westbury agreed, writing: "Their set was amazing and Brian May being there just made it even better!" Chris Powney felt the same, writing: "Can bringing Brian May out ever be a bad thing?"

There were a few dissenting voices, however, with some users believing that May was punching below his weight by appearing with the band. Lean Velez certainly thought so, writing: "Brian has lost his mind, My Chemical Romance really sucks." And Jamie Rockwell went even further, writing: "His [singer Gerard Way's] band sucks and he only dishonours Queen citing them as an influence."
