REVIEW [excerpt]: Concert review: Time hasn't entirely taken its toll on Blink-182

"...New Jersey's My Chemical Romance warmed the stage for Blink with a brief high-drama run through tracks like the driving "Helena," the anthemic "S/C/A/R/E/C/R/O/W" and the Queen-inspired "Welcome to the Black Parade."


Part emo, part metal and part goth, these guys are essentially the 21st-century model of the Smashing Pumpkins, a band never afraid to make outsized, grandiose gestures. While they often skew toward the silly, it would've been terrific had they been granted more playing time."
