REVIEW: My Chemical Romance rock Radio 1's Big Weekend

My Chemical Romance have taken to the stage at Radio 1's Big Weekend in Carlisle.

The New Jersey rockers entertained revellers at the event with a 50-minute set of ten songs, which included their 2006 UK number one 'Welcome To The Black Parade' and 2007 top ten hit 'Teenagers'.

Frontman Gerard Way whipped the crowd into a frenzy during the gig by declaring: "I got a feeling that you guys want to dance tonight... Dancing's the one thing they're afraid of, not throwing bricks and stuff."

He later told them: "No matter where you come from, no matter what you do, don't ever stop running."

The US four-piece closed the show with their 2005 single 'Helena', taken from platinum-selling sophomore album Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge.

Way later described the Big Weekend as an "awesome" experience and named 'Teenagers' as his favorite performance of the evening.

Radio 1's Big Weekend concludes tonight with a performance from Lady GaGa.
