REVIEW (excerpt, TRANSLATED): Optimus Alive '11 - report and pictures from Day 2 of the festival

(translation below)

O rock FM xaroposo existe e "The Only Hope For Me Is You" aparece para confirmá-lo.

(translated by Google Translate/Microsoft Translator/PROMPT-online translator):

...Blitz parked at the Optimus Stage in anticipation of watching My Chemical Romance perform. The native neighbors of Bon Jovi (New Jersey, USA) did not further delay our waiting and immediately went into a show of pop/punk, modern songs, with theatrics revealing (lyrically & musically), a typical American experience.

Gerard Way, sporting red hair and a green shirt, commands the operations of a show that would certainly had been another type of output back when EMO was a rite of passage (how time flies). Playing under the light of day, the once black and Gothic Gerard Way is  today a pop superstar, without needing the makeup, and theatrics of a recent past.

That is not necessarily a loss, it seems, as the bands kicks off their set with "Na Na Na". This song is an unlikely mixture reminiscent of the Kaiser Cheifs, Green Day, and Queen all in one. Also with a hint of the 80's dance sound that the Swedish The Sounds or the American The Killers have breathed new life into. The crowd danced and sang along, and it seems like the little EMO witches are no longer sad; 2011 is lollipops and colorful, it seems. And no there is no emo who could resist a straw hat....

The performance of  "Mama", helps us to realize that MCR are not a one dimensional band (or one style of music either). This brings back a memory of  "Alabama Song" by The Doors, and of  Gorgol Bordello, but they did not put the final nail in the coffin there, as the theme of the show returned to its rock-drama (or drama Queen) music hall songs which brought us back to another time in the wake of Green Day's 'American Idiot'.

The FM rock show seems to have been over with and their syrupy sweet song "The Only Hope for Me is You" appears to confirm it. Suddenly the mood changed completely when the band performs "Destroya", the closest that MCR will ever get to sounding like Nine Inch Nails. So no one would complain about the changes in mood, "Teenagers" ended up getting the most enthusiastic reaction of the evening. Are MCR more pop now, or is MCR just a completely different band altogether?

When the Portuguese flag with the word ' Contaminated ' is rolled in microphone support, we realized that the case is serious. ' Welcome to the Black Parade ' in its alternation of tempos, is the opera-rock group, and is sung with commitment, eyes closed and voice loud. Near the end, ' The Kids From Yesterday ' which shows the rib suffering humanity than that the BLITZ, here there are delayed, called ' Teardrop ' boy: ' they only care when you bleed ' could be the motto of a sly hospital, but is a reflection on current society. Good concert, you might want to say.
