REVIEW: Day One Round Up So Far: Oxegen 2011 - Weezer, All-Time Low, My Chemical Romance & More!

It's been a great day for rock fans at Oxegen's main stage, who were treated to performances from the Fun Lovin' Criminals, The Blackout and All Time Low before Weezer descend for one of the stand-out performances of the day.

Front man Rivers Cuomo's typical enthusiasm took over the stage and most of the fixtures, as he climbed, clamoured and just did not stop moving with boundless enthusiasm. He certainly gave the camera crew a run for their money and left the crowd on a high after a winning set spanning their huge back catalogue. The band treated the crowd by throwing in a few covers - the often-performed 'Teenage Dirtbag' by Wheatus and an unexpected tribute to Radiohead's 'Paranoid Android'.

An hour set felt short for such an established band as Weezer who could have entertained the main stage for much longer, but the well-entertained crowd more than make do with their set and are left thoroughly warmed up for next act My Chemical Romance.

Gerard Way and Co hit the stage to a crowd buzzing with anticipation, opening with recent dance number 'Na Na Na Na' that gets their wellied-feet off the ground.

The flame-haired front man took advantage of the stage's catwalk and made his way out to the screaming fans, who were treated to a career-spanning set from My Chemical Romance's four studio albums.

The crowds were well entertained by tracks old and new and jumpy hit 'Teenagers' provoked a huge dancing wave throughout the masses.

Headlining the main stage tonight are Black Eyed Peas, stay tuned to Virtual Festivals for more on their performance.
