REVIEW: Fan recap - Voodoo Festival 2011

by mnkyjnkieang

This is not a review of the My Chem performance at Voodoo Experience 2011. I don't write reviews. This is just me spilling my thoughts about my first My Chem concert. It might be coherent. If so it's by no means because I was coherent.

FRANK. I'll never look at Frankie the same way again. Not much interaction with the audience that I recall, but I was distracted. He was blissed out, in his own little world - not that this comes as a surprise. A beautiful sight. His love for the music, for playing, is fucking sexy. He's so THERE. So energetic. Yes, ngl, I think Frank is hot. But he's still not my favorite. Sorry.

RAY. He is also in his own little world when he plays. I don't recall him looking directly at the audience. Hell, I don't recall him looking away from his guitar. He is phenomenal - and not just his thighs. A security guy gave me one of Ray's picks. NGL. That made me fangirl. RayMotherfuckingToro, bitches!
MIKEY. Mikey Fuckin Way. Photos DO NOT do him justice. I was floored by how gorgeous he is IRL. He reminds me of a cat. He's lithe and graceful, which I find surprising considering things like the Space Heater in the Shower Incident. And BLOODY HELL! His hands! His fingers! His LEGS! Seeing him play... The real life, in front of you on stage playing is so different. Even the way his hair moves. Really, pics and vids cannot capture that shit.

GERARD. I would write a book on Gee if I could find the words. Well, I probably will anyway :P He is sassy and sexy and he plays the audience, but not in an egotistical manner the way Jackson Rathbone does. His self-confidence was a long time in the making. (I'm certain LynZ has a lot to do with that which makes her even more awesome. I'd like to hear how he has changed her life.) He has none of that asshole "I'm sexy, worship me" attitude.

Gee struts and prances and jumps and kicks, teasing the audience like a stripper. And that's not even taking into account the hand licking, molesting of the mic stand, or getting ~friendly with the stage on his back AND his hands and knees. People back in the day thought Elvis was a bad influence. PFFFFFT! Elvis was tame.

His speaking voice is a mix of sweetness and filth, sometimes sounding a little feminine, but then he screams and it's rough and scratchy and UNF. The contrast is sexy. He should always speak words. Always. Any words. IDGAF what he actually says (I won't remember it anyway) as long as he speaks.

His eyes. OMG HIS EYES. I know they're hazel, but Friday they were SO GREEN. They popped. I've never seen green eyes look that vividly green. Anyone who knows me knows I have a major thing for green eyes. To say I was enthralled is an understatement. Entranced. If he stood still long enough I'd probably not be aware of anything else about him. No, really.

JFC can that boy move! He's fast and energetic yet somehow graceful. It's difficult to pay attention to the rest of the band when Gee is moving. I was afraid I'd miss something (and I did miss a few things) if I looked away. I had to force my eyes toward the others.

In conclusion, THIS WAS THE BEST CONCERT I HAVE EVER BEEN TO.
